I have owned a 2016 Hyundai Tucson for 2. 5 years. In that time it has been in for several issues that can not be duplicated when at the service center and deemed 'working fine, no codes present at this time'. My issues have included loss of transmission control after a stop (software update fixed), intermittent headlamp that won't turn on, the media displaying 'battery discharge warning' while car was running and in motion (headlamp replaced after several times taking to the dealership and I was lucky enough to have the warning light go on while the technician was there). Now the computer/dash board is restarting itself at 45 mph . This has occurred two times. The dash board went dark for 1 second and then started back up through is startup sequence. During this time, the engine is still running but I have no control over the transmission. If you push on the gas pedal it will increase rpms but not accelerate. During this time it is necessary to pull over and turn the car off and then back on. Again, no codes thrown and not reproducible at the service center. The service center found that the positive battery terminal was not completely tight and thought maybe this caused the issue. I am frustrated that something that could happen easily as this doesn't show up as an error since it caused a unsafe driving environment. 24 hours ago, while trying to make a left hand turn at a busy street the car started forward when gas pedal pressed but then stopped moving forward only to lurch forward after a second and pick up speed. I know that if I take it in for this it will be the same story: 'we found nothing wrong. No codes thrown, bring it back if it happens again. ' this car is not safe to drive and the manufacture will not buy it back since there was no defect found. . .

When accelerating from a stopped position, the vehicle would go into first gear and accelerate for a few seconds, then would try to move up to a higher gear and get suspended for about 5-7 seconds as if it could not find the next gear. This has happened 2-3 times so far. Also, when I have tested the response of accelerating by pressing the gas while traveling at a low speed, the vehicle would not respond as expected. On several occasions, I pushed the pedal to the floor and the engine only responded as if I was slightly accelerating. I have a 1. 6 turbo. Additionally, I have had the lights on my dashboard go out - except for my radio/navigation system. I suspect this had to do with a sensor as it was dusk and my lights tripped some electrical or software defect. I was going down a major highway around washington d. C. At the time and could not see any of the driving controls for approx 20 seconds. I am not sure if my headlights went out at that time but eventually, after flipping my lights off and on and pressing the dash light to maximum, the lights on the dashboard returned. Last week, the audio of my radio/navigation system would not work. After leaving my car and locking it for about 20 minutes and returning, the sound was working again. I took a video of this. The temperature in my vehicle was not regulating properly while stationary. The dealership said there was a bad sensor and replaced it. It has worked great since then. However, I am still having major problems accelerating from a stopped position from a red light or turning into a road, or accelerating from a very slow speed. My vehicle is now in a second dealership trying to resolve this issue that still lingers. This is causing me to feel very insecure about driving my vehicle. I am second owner. First owner had only put 2500 miles on it and traded it in. Probably a bad sign.

Hesitation on acceleration, dual clutch transmission. Reported problems with the 2016 Tucson. My vehicle is a 2017 Tucson se plus, the problems are the same as previously reports regarding the 2016 model. The existing recall needs to be broadened to include 2017's. Plus, I understand the computer software upgrade does not guarantee a permanent repair. Very dangerous. My car was purchased in may of 2017 and has less than 1300 miles. The problem was first discovered today while doing daily errands.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. While attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated to move without warning. The vehicle would sometimes become stuck between 30 and 60 mph. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed all the way to the floorboard and the vehicle began to operate normally. The failure was intermittent and occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where a software update was performed; however, the failure recurred. The software was updated a total of three times, but the failure persisted. A month later, the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and kept for 40 days because the failure could not be determined. The dealer stated that the vehicle was being driven in eco-mode, which would hinder the performance of the vehicle to save fuel. The vehicle was included in and repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 16v628000 (electrical system, power train), but the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25.

Unexpected acceleration of engine when at complete stop (at stop sign) and foot had been on brake for at least 30 seconds. Shift was in drive, engine went full speed, all wheels spun on ground, creating much smoke. Foot remained on brake. Note that accelerator pedal when not engaged is below level of brake pedal when it is engaged and that when accelerator pedal is full down then its level is 3 inches below the brake pedal level when it is engaged. Right foot was on brake - thus no way for operator error since if foot had been off brake the vehicle would have shot forward into intersection and there would have been a multiple car accident. And there is no way to have right foot on brake and to have accelerator full down at the same time. Shifted to neutral, engine continued to race, some noise when shifted - may have harmed transmission. Turned off ignition switch and engine stopped. Vehicle started normally after this. Ac was on. Car had full dealer service at 45,661 miles and state inspection a week before this incident. At 45755 miles, tech confirmed ses light; found code p0150 oxygen sensor- not replaced, software updated for engine control module.

slow starting or slow cranking, as in engine turns freely and fast, or more of a dead battery slow crank sound?

John,Thanks for your help but its not the answer in my case . I will be more specific. We have changed and or replaced the following.Heater plugs. All seals with ref. to fuel.Replaced fuel filters.Sometimes it will just turn over and not start at all. The battery is in full charge state. With a tow it starts immediately. When driving along it has just cut out and stopped. Very embarassing for my wife who drives it. At present it eventually starts but is not responsivr to throttle.Could it be the crankcase sensor or is there something that we have missed.Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

it can be any and or many sensors. crank shaft sensor or cam sensor can do that have it checked for codes (those sensors will have random/many mis-fires). so please report back with any more info., still there is no direct answer.
